Nestled in the heart of the Timbavati Private Game Reserve, Too Wild Luxury Camp was imagined as an immersive haven for aspiring photographers and nature enthusiasts. The camp would offer bespoke learning experiences, where guests could receive hands-on guidance from wildlife photography experts amid the untamed beauty of the African bush.
The Challenge
We were appointed to shape this vision into a world-class retreat, deep within unfenced Big 5 territory. Working in such an untamed environment presented extraordinary challenges: no cellular network, hair-raising encounters with spitting cobras, unpredictable buffalo runs, and the constant need to safeguard every team member and asset on site.
To keep the project on track, the team had to think fast, adapt continuously, and innovate at every step.
Our Solution
Bringing the camp to life demanded a focus on comfort, safety and high-end detail at every turn. A satellite communication system was installed to keep operations coordinated, secure fencing was erected to guard against roaming lion, leopard and elephant, and every delivery was personally escorted to protect both people and supplies.
From hard-walled guest tents to elegant communal areas and purpose-built staff facilities, each component was designed to offer a spectacular luxury experience in one of the most unforgiving environments on earth.
The Results
We successfully transformed the wild into a world of high-end comfort, redefining what’s possible in hospitality design.
Now commercialised under Amaya, the camp embodies a perfect synergy between nature and luxury.
